Door lock thingy?

   not sure if this is the right section for this post but what is the part that holds the door open called? because on my car i dont have one on the drivers door and it doesnt stay open, really annoying. It has like 2-3 different positions to hold the door open at whats it called?

   the hinge? idk i know what you mean though mate mine dose it lol.
   when you open it at a centain point dose it make like a 'snap' noise kind of?
   i think you may just need to change the silver thing lmaoooo sorry i cant remember :\

   Jam a drink bottle in there to keep it open, mines worn too- wont stay open and that method works
