Removing Injectors

  1. #1
    Alrighty,

I'm going to remove the injectors later (fancy getting them ultrasonically cleaned).

Is there anything french-esque design issues that i need to worry about before tackling it? Basically what I'm saying is, are there any things on the saxo that are going to make an easy job difficult?

What about de pressurising the fuel system? That's the only thing I'm not too sure on.

    cheers!

Re depressurising, when you take the fuel feed tubes off the rail it will obviously squirt petrol out, so make sure the engine isnt hot and you are not smoking etc.

The rail is difficult to pull out. I managed it with the head orf but never tried it in situ. Also I dont know how to take individual injectors off the rail, but you probably just send it off complete anyway.

The injectors just wiggle out of the head. It's easier in the car coz the head doesn't move about. Have a cloth over the fuel line when you disconnect it. Only a slight bit will come out so it's not alot to worry about. Oh, and make sure you don't lose the rubber O rings (they mite be fabric type ones, can't remember) off the injectors. If they're not on the on the injector when you reove it fish about in the hole.

I remember you off SSC I think. Lol.

when you take the injector off the rail the feul will spill out do have some towels or something ready and they come out easy just by undoin the little clip at the top of the injector. have fun mate
