central locking

    basically , ive had a new alarm fitted to my vtr about 3months ago ever since my central locking hasnt been working my mechanic / friend says its my control box and he says its nackered and its not worth putting another one in ..
    is there anything else i could do because its dead embarrassing locking my car by the key then arming the alarm then disarming it then unlocking it by the key ..

    Sorry to be stating the obvious... If your alarm and fob is aftermarket then it obviously won't work with the central locking unless the fob has been matched to the frequency of the standard remote central locking sensor.

    Tried pointing the fob at the sensor inside the car from about 6 inches away? If it works then change the fob battery.
