Saxo slowly tipping me over the edge!

Hokay, after replacing almost every moving part on the car it's now decided to go wrong again. i <3 French cars.

    Anyway the new problem:
The car is vibrating, a lot. So much so that the interior plastics are vibrating themselves loose.

Obviously the first thing to check is going to be the mounts. (it does actually feel like the car is on solid engine mounts) But the car recently had a poorflow cat back exhaust system put on. Just pondering whether the exhaust could cause something like this? I know the manifold is very rusty and the springs near the cat are past it, but it doesn't sound like it's blowing.

Any one had anything similar happen to them? or think of anything i've missed?
(have done a search but pretty difficult to summarise to search for)

Sure it's not the engine mount? Driver's side.

I've rocked the engine back and forward on the bite point and it seems pretty solid still. No play in it. Is the drivers engine mount be a common problem with these?

yes, common for bolt on bottom of mount to snap, not obvious without removing the mount and having a look

the exhaust could be touching on the axle

From what i can see it's sitting perfectly still. That was my first checkpoint and it seems a little rusty but ok.

i think it would possily be the drivers side engine mount because i had a massive vibration, couldnt find the problem till one day i did the clutch on it let the gearbox down from the mount and found my whole engine sat on the floor :/

It was the engine mount just incase anyone has a similar problem with theirs!

As Mandyslover said there's a bolt that runs through the mount and they're notoriously weak. Mine had snapped so the whole think slackened off causing the vibration!
