Recommend me a clutch...

    Thats good for 160+ bhp

    On a VTS BTW :-)
  2. #2
    Valeo....
  3. #3
as above standard should be fine, torque kills clutches not power
  4. #4
Standard valeo will be fine. I only run 150bhp but abuse it on track etc and its been fine.

Eurocarparts I found was the cheapest place to get one
  5. #5
    Search
    Gets asked every week
  6. #6
So an oem one should be ample? I take it there isnt a bigger clutch that will fit straight on?
  7. #7
    OEM is fine.

Valeo, Luk, Borg n Beck. As long as you spend £100 on a clutch theyre good really.
  8. #8
As said above standard clutch will be fine for that sort of power mate
  9. #9
if you are not drag racing and not going to lift the power alot or use an lsd then std wil be fine --with lsd -+drag starts getting borderline

    .......

would get a LUK or VALEO clucth are the best quality
  12. #12
am going to be running ph3 cams and throttle bodies on standard valeo clutch, like said above your more likley to need uprate clutch with boost, turbo supercharger when you have high amounts of torque.

but when you say 160bhp+ how do you plan to get the 160+ bhp?
  13. #13
Well I've had my Valeo clutch in my throttle bodied Saxo for a week now, with 160bhp and the clutch is slipping.

    Very disappointed.
  14. #14
Ryan swears by Valeo Clutches. He's running 200bhp (199.8 officially, or something stupid) N/A/
  15. #15
    I want to too.
    They're cheaper for a start.

This is the second Valeo in two weeks.
  16. #16
Then you're too harsh on your transmission.
  17. #17
    Please don't patronise me.

    Lol.

    What's going on them?
  19. #19
Don't know, hence why I'm here Buddy.
  20. #20
Well if you are changing your clutch every week you must have a reason to do it.

Thrust bearing? Friction plate? Pressure plate?

The Valeo clutch can handle 200bhp n/a. As has been proved. So 160 is nothing.

Righty then, well I'll raise this with my Mechanic.

    Thank you.

It was a damaged bearing in my gearbox that gave the effect of slippage.

Thanks for all y'all help anyway.
