The dreaded arch rust!!!

  1. #1
    Afternooooon folks,

We originally set out earlier on "torsion bar" mode to lower the rear, but when i got the wheels off and cleaned the arches n torsion area, we noticed rust falling off, pics below...just wondered whats the most effective way of attacking the rust/holes???? someone told me they need a plate welding over the holes??
Any advice would be super appreciated!!

i wouldnt just plate over it as its not sorting the problem just hideing it for another year or so, best off to cut all the rust out and then weld in some new stuff.

Poke about with a screw driver and if its just falling apart its gone you need a new plate over it but if not just rust sealant

You need to cut out all the rust affected area and mig weld in a plate to good metal, If you weld a plate over the rust will just eat away behind the plate and eventually infect the plate..
