1.4 Furio gearbox on mk2 VTS

  1. #1
    Hi people,

my bearings and diff are on there way out and ive come across a 1.4 box at reasonable money.

i mostly do round town driving and the fastest i go on the motorway is about 80.

is the box a direct fit (ok to use abs vts driveshafts and clutch)and will there be much of a difference? Im not changing for extra speed just my vts one is basically gone and this is a cheapish box.

    please help.

    thanks

    sam

duno, depends what the ratios are, i would imagine it would be a screamer

Furio box is practically identical to the vtr box.
I think maybe second is a little shorter..
    Should be fine

Furio gearbox is almost identical to the VTR box, iirc 1st and 2nd use a slightly shorter ratio or its 2nd and 3rd cant really remember, but they use the same final drive.

So basically it will make your car slower! potentially a higher top speed but the laws of physics mean you will never see it!

If its just the bearings gone in your box, get it refurbed and get a warranty with it imo.
All the 106/saxo MA gearboxes are interchangeable.
