Important! : Saxo Ignition... not starting

   I changed the centre console of my VTS today to a silver one out of a 1.1 mk1. Since iv changed it my car wont start? Is it because i unplugged the wires at the back that link to the alarm button or is it something to do with the cigarette lighter?
   
   Might sound stupid but the wire from my car does not fit into the cigarette lighter that came with the mk1 centre console so does that wire have anything to do with the ignition?
   
   Please help,its due in birmingham tomorrow morning to have a black diamond clutch in for my bodies that are going on in a fortnight.

   dont think the ciggy lighter wire will have anything do with it not starting did you disconnect the battery before doing it

   a lot of posts ive read where you are dealing with electrics and stuff always say disconnect the battery does your car turn over at all

   Yeah turns over mate but just doesnt fire. Disconnected then reconnected the alarm and its still doing the same

   you didnt touch the red button by any chance under the bonnet the fuel cut off switch maybe disconnect the battery again for half an hour then re connect it and try again

    i think im gunna get rid of this thing now. Its doin my head in and had too much money off me over the past 6 months, it just started then died. Is looking low on fuel to be fair so will test that lol. If its not that then im sending the bodies back and the car is getting shot of

    true, started but onli ticked for a second or so. Ill stick some fuel in in the morning but doesnt look empty to me. Fingers crossed

    as if, car now sorted. Didnt start because it had no fuel & the clutch i forgot to adjust the cable when i fitted it, that was all it was. (idiot springs to mind). Selling her now i think. RX8 time
