    Alright all!

Basically i had just driven home, went to pull up on the kerb after stopping to mount it and heard 2 loud clunks, went to drive forward at biting point and the front right of the car just went down without going anywhere, sometimes it would move a few feet and then clunk, i had a quick look underneath as im sure something has seized on the wheel and im thinking its the driveshaft or cv joint.

The offside driveshaft looked clean and the drives one looked like some sludge has got onto it? maybe leaked?

Can someone shed some light please

    sounds like cv joint.....

The sludge sounds like the grease from the cv as Saxokid said have a look at the cv boot if theres a split in it then thats your problem

No idea on prices atm when I had myn I got quoted about 80-100 quid but to change a shaft is 2 max of 3 hour job but you may be able to get just the joint changed. Just see the price difference but may be cheaper just to do the shaft as its just a straight swap then.

80-100 including parts + oil and labour sounds more or less right.

An hour if all goes well but nothing is perfect in the real world and problems can occur.
