Brembo 4pot discs spacings... still fighting the squeel

  1. #1
hi all, ok like i have mentioned before the cheap discs that everyone has been orderind for their 4pots off that site that was advised on another thread was to small, they fitted but the width of them around the hub was smaller so my whell would not fit back on with these new discs.

has anyone els had this problem??

what size wheels everyone is using with their 4pots?

i have read on here that its the alignment in where the discs sits closer to one brake pad that is making it squeel thats why i think them cheap discs are working and my stupid wheel wont fit on with them!!

i already have a 20mm hubcentrick spacer on my wheels do you think it would be ok to fit another cheap 5mm spacer next to my new discs?? i think if i do this then my weel will fit on with them slim cheap discs but ill have the proper alignment inbetween the pads...

please read all carefull and try to answer all questions as the sax is back in the garage tomorrow to have one last go and if it dont work ill be taking them off!

    thanks

Im running them fine with 15's no spacers with the Xantia Discs, it is very tight though. Not 100% sure what your problem is.. Will the wheel not fit over the caliper with the discs fitted? what wheels do you have? and size?

well i am driving the car now and the ehwwl fits over them but i wouldnt be able to fit a piece of card board inbetween the caliper and the wheel lol. that is with the Xantia discs orderd from national tyres. but when i use the Xantia discs that i was told to order from a website on ere the whell wont fit over them but everyone els seems to be using them fine... my wheels are 15" aswell.

where did you get your discs from?

that sounds about right to me the gap between my caliper and wheel weights is about 1mm never had any problems, thats with the Xantia discs ordered from the site on here.

oh did you say your not using no spacers at all? or just the 20mm for the wheels and no spacer for the discs? i still have the new discs in a box but i might go to another garage and see if they can get them on...

I run no spacers at all, my wheels are team dynamics 1.2's in et 15 I think! If you check my progress thread there's a few pictures in the of the brakes and wheels if that any use?

yeah them wheels do look nice i need to get me a new set... even if i do use spacers the spacer is after the discs so it wont affect how the discs sit in the caliper... i really dont understand why they wont stop squeeking but its so annoyin think i will just put the standard calipers back on for now sell the whole brembo set up maybe they might work for someone els then buy a gti6 set up or something.
