106 GTi Alternator belt Tensioner

   Basically replace my alternator belt tensioner as it was squeaking and annoying me.
   
   However now I cant get the top slider bolt to start and it is pissing me off no end.

   The top bolt which you have to loosen.
   
   
   Anyone else had this issue?

   I just fucked off all the VTS gubbins in favour of a VTR alternator setup. More simplistic, easier to tension, and the alt is farther from the manifold.

   Well finally done it. Just got a lever bar down there to gently persuade it to start and amazingly it worked without cross threading anything.
