Important! : Clutch and Gear Issue!!

    on the way home tonight as I went to change down from third to second as i knocked the gear stick into neutraland pressed the clutch in and the clutch would only go half way in, couldnt get a gear.

    Got the car to the side of the road and tried to force the gear in, the linkage popped off the the gearbox side. put it back on (now know I need a new linkage!) and tried to get it in gear. wouldnt engage any of them with the engine running, just kept cutting the engine. It feels like they go in gear with the engine off but as soon as i try to start the engine it just cuts out without turning over.

    I cant get the clutch arm on the gearbox to move like it would when the clutch is pressed in and the clutch cable does not pull through like its snapped, im fucked if I know whats going on.

    Car is sat outside wor lasses grans house luckily but needs sorted asap, any help appreciated. TA

    Sounds like you need a new clutch release bearing to me buddy

    Comes part of a clutch kit as you usually fit them when changing the clutch

    Anyone got any other ideas?? For some reason my dad text me saying damp in the clutch/box cos it's been pissing it down the last couple of days. Sounds like old peoples logic to me.
