Engine diagnostics

Hi all, I am having problems getting my mk2 VTR to show any data on my diagnostics equipment, I'm using an elm327 OBD2 reader and have tried a couple of different softwares on it (scantool, touchscan, digimotolite) but getting no readings at all.

Does anyone use this set-up that can help me get it sorted?

Of course, google is always my first call for anything! Like i said, I've tried a few. They all work on a 2000 Ford Fiesta Zetec and '53 Vauxhall Vectra so don't understand whats going on with the saxo

Certain it's a 3 plug? As in you've physically checked it? Because the early Mk2's were of single plug designation.

Proscan was the only software that I got that ELM to work on.

It's a 52 plate and ecu cover is missing, theres 3 plugs going into ECU, or am I being stupid?

    nope you're not being stupid!

Try ProScan - check the lights are coming up on the ELM when you connect to the port. Then try connecting.

    Weird though!

yeah all the lights come on, and it seems like software knows its connected but not getting any readings at all!
