Lowering 60mm...

Lowering my car 60mm on standard shocks etc does this just make my ride extremely crashy and harsh or is there any regrets this could cause in the form of things breaking.... any info appreciated thanx.

I would not lower it any more than 35mm on stanted schocks thay would not last long if lowed any more than that

Also thats what i have been advised to do just go for about 40mm any more then upgraded shocks are needed just worried that 40mm wont look low enough

I think 40mm looks spot on the arches sit just above the tyre but i have a vts with 15s on and lowed 40mm but i have a full kit on not just springs

Alot of people on here seem to go for 40mm instead of 60mm so think ill take the good advice for once and go for 40mm and when i have a few pennys upgrade the shocks anyway still alot to do to the car though. Always a fun project a VTR =D, ta for the advice guys

You go to 40mm.. then you look and you say.. damn this needs to go 60mm..

Modify the original socks.. and put some apex bumpstops.. stay rly nice =)

And some nice springs.. not some very harsh

Yeah.. the only problem of standart shocks is that they wont ever get up as they get.. and will last less..

And when your car is in the air.. is the spring isnt progressive.. it will "walk on the park" cause the shock is 2 big and the spring 2 short

I was running lowered 60mm on standard shocks for over a year, and they looked to be fine when I swapped to aftermarket ones.

I found it to be a lot more harsh when I uprated the dampers.

i uprated the dampers when went 60mm becuase i didnt want to get the suspension off again in 6 months time to replace knackered shocks. Guess it handles better with the matched dampers aswell.
And as you said, 40mm isnt low enough , go 60 lol
