What is the bast kit/way to slam a saxo?

  1. #1
Over winter i'm looking to slam my saxo
Probably 80mm on the back, and 60mm on the front.

Need any advice I can get on, what kit or what method to use to achieve this with good results.
    Thanks

Coilovers on front, Lower the torsion bar to match.

Do not use the "notch" method. instead remove both bars, measure the drop properly and put it all back together. There's countless guides on here so good luck!

Hate the slammed on its arse look IMO, either level, or arse up a little, like 60mm all over, or 60mm front and 55mm back

i think 50mm is perfect. There's a bloke by me down 80mm looks like a complete twat. cant imagine what it's like over bumps

I put my uncle in my saxo, dropped it bout 80mm instantly he warned me to go over bumps very slowly as to not take off my sump lol

see i think it looks cack with the arse up on saxos. coilovers are best but cost alot, just get the spax 60mm springs and dampers of ebay/kamracing

Wait till the boot has a rusty look and you can poke holes in the drivers side, get a big fat twat and place him in the back, then smash it over a speed bump and listen for the boot to colapse in on its self, thats what happend to my mate. Another chaved up saxo off the road

Please dont drop it on its hoop mate, it looks foul.

With those sort of drops mate the handling would be aweful as well. Not to mention your constant need for new suspention parts.

Cheers for the advice and opinions!
Im going to get the new alloys on before i decide now, but its either 60/60 or 60/70 .

For 60mm lowering you are going to need the Spax VSX or PSX kits

60mm would be your very maximum from a long term perspective. It would look slammed as you say but without the drawbacks

60/60 with 15's spaced out 20mm looks awesome (see last pate of progress thread for pics), not really very practical though so I'm going 30-40mm all round

Definatley going to get some spacers too, just not sure how much at the minute. 20mm is safe enough, was thinking 30mm on the back?

back will drop 80mm and loo the nuts but i only managed that on standard wheels with no rubbing. front you can lower around 50mm before it starts to rub. lowering springs on front look on ebay and pull out torsion bars for back, bit of a job getting them out tho. but cheap way to lower. also remember to re move the anti roll bar when lowering the front

I don't get why everyone seems to have problems etc with very low.
Mines been down about 100mm for a year or so and I have no problems apart from wearing the inner edges of the front tyres!
My front wheels don't rub on anything and they are 8.5" wide and my rears just touch the kit, but they are 9"!
I can get it over almost any speed bump, slowly.
Didn't even have this problem with a pas pipe rubbing on anything (when it had pas)

I've got the Spax vsx kit -60mm, its still very useable and practicle tbh had no problems with mine. Just make sure you get the axle lowered the proper way!

20mm is the widest you can go at the back with standard offset/width wheels without archwork looking at mine, it's very very close if not catching...

Cheers, 20mm spacers it is then !

Still undecided on the height! Have a while to make my mind up though, have to save for the alloys and the right kit first !

    Si,

This is my old vtr 80 rear. 50 front. on 15".

thats the lowest i would go around here with all the shit roads.

btw, no spacers on front, get 20mm on rear would get an epic stance.

Atm, im leaning toward, 60/80 or 60/60 with 20mm spacers on the back !

It took me, about 10months for my pas pipe to rub through and i was down on chassis all round!

I ha d problems with multie story carparks, and the big metal speedbumps, other ones where fine.

Three sumps later, after the casual abuse caused me to rasie it abit!

    But low, being gash?!
    Only option imo!

why do you have to remove the arb when lowering the front??
