Mines split and need it changing it's in a garage now been quoted £165.98 for the pipe then 2hours labour charge on top will be the best part of £300
Any one fitted one them selves if yes how easy to fit and how easy to source part, or if done at a garage how much did you pay?.
    Thanks.

hello, If its the one that rubs when the car is lowered.I dont really recon thats worth 165 ! All i did was get a second hand one from the scrapyard. Jacked the car up on the drivers side, undid the pipe at the pump end and the steering rack end and then fitted a new one. You would also need power steering fluid. Do you have anyone that could do it for you .. ?
Edit: 300 !!!. Its definately not worth that !!, i think the pipe brand new is around 70 quid, not to sure on that tho and it took me around 20 min to fit at most !!

Is that the pipe that rubs when lowered or the other one bickerton.. ? Cos even if it is the more expensive one she should be able to get one at the breakers for a tenner or summin. However if it is the other pipe i cant really comment as i cant remember it :L

Paul thats filth lol. but yea i think i would rather have a new pipe on it incase it wears away again it's deff the high pressure pipe, can't drive it up to them either anyway as it barely steers . should be done by tomorrow i will post up how much it cost. glad i don't have a fiesta ford wanted £300 for the hight pressure pipe for my boy.f's car but luckily for him it wasnt that , that was leaking.
blokes at the garage put some powersteering fluid in to get it moved in but just poured back out.

Thats a massive amount of money for 1 pipe. Should not cost anywhere near that.

Would be better asking Chris how much he can get one for from work.

Some really really silly prices about lately for changing the simplest of parts
