    wouldn't to be honest mate. I work with diagnostics every day, and they can cause damage to the ECU if not used in the correct function etc. Would look at taking it to a local garage to get checked over if in doubt about anything.

    tbh i only work with the snap on ones, like modus etc, but the sykes pickavant one is decent, then again also expensive, for the best of the best your look at alot of money. It doesnt cost a great amount to just take it in to you local garage and get it looked at. To get the most out of code reader etc you need a decent one. Code readers will just give you the fault code, not all of them delete them and not all of them will give you a specific defnition.

    For example, on the modus (snap on) diagnostic computer, it will provide you with the fault, give a direct code which you would then look up on autodata (a computer cd) which would then clarify how to fix the problem etc.
