driveshaft problem vts

   when i leave the clutch out, the car tries to move, but it wont, how do i check whether the CV boot is f ucked or not ?

   Sounds more like a clutch problem to me.
   
   Explain in more detail what happens.

   but i can put it into gear nd i wont roll, then i put the clutch in and she rolls, so its got to be the shafts aint it ?

   think what he's trying to say is:
   
   When its in gear and he's trying to move off (clutch up) it doesn't move, but when he puts the clutch in the car can Roll/move. so basically you've got no drive?
   if so i would think one of the shafts has snapped or a total catostrophic gearbox failure,
   see if it happens in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and reverse.
