Another leak problem... any help asap?!

    Hi all fellow Saxo owners,

I'm new to Saxperience so please be nice. Basically, like a lot of people it seems I have this leak problem where water is collecting only in the passenger foot well. Apologies in advance for the detail!...

As a new driver I bought the car only about 5 months ago so this is new to me, but looking at the carpet and insulation it has happened before in this 10 year old car. It is baffling me though because it appears to actually be leaking in two places; one utterly perplexes me.

Originally I thought it was the sunroof but I checked the seals and lowered the headlining and poured water down the drain hoses and they were clear. So I believe the sunroof is not at all to blame. As far as I can see it is getting in a very small gap or break in the seal either in the top corner of the windscreen on the nearside or at the end of the black rubber strip (which runs from windscreen to tailgate) on the nearside on top of the roof. It is then being deflected by the headlining and running down behind the windscreen pillar, between the door weatherstrip and the dash, and finally resting under the carpet in the passenger foot well. No damage yet but it is starting to smell like a wet dog.

Well the headlining at the top of the nearside windscreen pillar is definitely wet to the touch so I believe that confirms this one. The next one is really making me mad though. Basically it was only after I think solved the first leak mystery I noticed the other one.

I don't know if it's related or not but there appeared to be water visibly dripping from the plastic at very bottom of the dash near the bonnet release lever and fuse access area. It wasn't running down the plastic and it seemed to be inconsistent in intensity but if I put my hand round literally directly to the left of the red bonnet release lever it felt wet. To me it didn't seem likely that the water was running from between the weatherstrip and dashboard from the other leak and finding its way there.

I investigated and there's like a small plastic 'box' bit attached to the dashboard plastic - directly to the left of the hole used to access the fuses - with a bit of metal on top which is all rusty. The water is either coming from between the metal and the plastic it is riveted onto (???), or from a small square hole in the plastic 'box' the metal is attached too. Yesterday when it rained the whole underside of that plastic dashboard on the passenger side seemed to be wet as if the water was running along it. What the f*@k!?

If you need help understanding I can upload some pictures.

I'm also not 100 per cent sure of the first leak either... but it's really getting on my tits now.

Apologies for the long post but thought I should give as much detail as possible.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks in advance,

    mikejr
