1.1 exhaust sound

  1. #1
hi people I am looking for a exhaust or backbox brand new and under £180 and I want it to sound raspy and loud. I am currently looking at the sportex oval inc race tube, longlife custom back box and the supersprint back box off of kam racing. I dont know wether I need the straight through centre section because my car is fitted with one already but I dont know wether to get the sportex one because it is bigger and will reduce back pressure please could someone give me some suggestions. If you could post or link videos or audio files aswell that would be spot on

your car dosn't already have the straight through centre section, yeah, it does have a long straight section in the centre but thats not what that pipe you're looking at is for.

The pipe you're looking at will be a de-cat pipe. Does excatly what it says on the tin, fucks the cat off. Simply get a grinder, chop either end of the cat and fit striaght pipe, bobs your uncle.

I don't know much about these exhaust systems but what i do know is firstly, imo, £180 is a fuck load of money to spend for zero gains and secondly de-catting your little 1.1 won't make it keep up with a VTS, infact from what i've heard, it'll hardly be worth it. Not to mention it's completly illegal (well it isn't, provided your car isn't emitting more emissions than allowed, but without the cat, it will be so it is illegal).

Up to you mate, personally i'm scanning around ebay for a cheap back box that will give a little more sound, but nothing too chavvy.

Save up for a bigger engine? All noise and no go is a bit

But a supersprint backbox off kam is your best bet, as said atleast it has some sell on value

i'm trying to find a cheap second hand back box, i don't mind having to cut/weld a little. Just don't want anything too big. just want a little more noise, nothing stupid though
