   Hi while driving home last night my temp light came on, filled up with water, 1 mile further down motorway my temp light , oil light , battery light all came on and the car cut out totaly. the car is a saxo LX, N regd 1.1 litre if anyone has any ideas what this could be i would be really gratefull for any advice

   No it dosent, its turning over but wont fire up

   check the oil cap for a mayo type substance on top of it, could be headgasket seems as its to do with oil and water but cant work out why the battery light would come on

   sounds like catastrophic headgasket faliure, takes alot to get the temp light on! if it is HGF the head is gonna be warped, so might aswell need a new engine,
   
   as said above check for mayo under oil cap and oil in the water.

   as said, any gunk in the coolant/oil?
   
   is there a spark?

   Hi i have checked the oil and its fine, dip stick checked normal level, also checked oil for mayo as you said and thats also fine,

   the battery light would come on cause it cut out , as it does when you roll the key back.
   but as above does sound like a bad ass head gasket lol!
   
   dont get a new engine, get it skimmed , rebuild ftw!

    Ha, nah cheaper just to drop a VTR lump in there and get more powerrrrr! lol.
    
    so no Mayo under the Oil cap.
    is there the rainbow effect in the water? is the water a browny gunky liquid?
