few problems with my saxo ive just got

   hi..
   
   theres a few things the airbag light came on and stayed on
   but with my messing with the wires under the seats it went
   off and its stayed off for now?
   
   the water light comes on when i start then engine
   but then go's off stright away and after a few hours
   of me driveing it will come back on and the water
   seems to go dead quick im me refilling the water alot??
   
   and 1 more thing theres a wineing noise when i turn the
   steering wheel maily to the left but not as much to the
   right this is when im sat stable buts its 100% the steering were the noise is coming from maybe its the pump?? because its full with power steering fluid
   
   can any 1 help me out. thanks

   Have u got a water leak somewhere.. is the car running hot?
   
   Mate of myne had same problem not long ago on his VTS.
   Not long after head gasket went

   i would suspect a head gasket problem
   do you have a mayo like substance in with your oil?

   Check your filler cap.. also what colour is your water?
   
   If you have just brought it, and non of these faults where listed.. sounds like you got a bad buy.. and should persue the previous owner about it..

   no leaks anywere? and the light on comes on for about 3 seconds then gos off the car runs mint starts 1st time everytime. the water lasts ages but just drops alot. and the temp gets high on it but gos down slowly once it gets to a point?

   not in the oil but theres some kind of substance in the water only abit.

   Id agree its a water leak. The whining is definatly a wheel bearing.

   Temp goes down cuz fan kicks in probly lol. ABout half way?
   
   And would suspect either headgasket due to fail.
   Could be something else tho so await further advice.
   But might worth getting it checked by a mechanic.. if your not mechanicaly minded your self.

    when does the light come on when you first start it?
    might be worth flushing it all out first worked on my dads car as he had pure water in his haha
    and when you say gets goes up to a point then drops sure the fan aint just coming on lol

    He said steering system is where its coming from, a bearing is more knocking that whineing...
    Could be a worn driveshaft on one side

    Wheel bearings can create a whining sound when the load of the car is pressed against it. For example when turning right a rear left wheel bearing failure will be more noticableable. Knocking is a driveshaft or droplink
    
    Having said that front wheel bearings can create the infamous knocking

    Can see where your coming from, but when my bearing went.. going down motorway at 80 was banging like crazy..
    never heard it whine....

    did u test drive the car? hard cornering, braking, checking things such as oil/water can all give idication to a dodgy motor..
    Checking for gunk it water/oil is one of the best ones to check.. also.. Full lock the steering and drive slowly is way to check driveshafts etc

    probs just the fan kicking lol
    
    and the substance in the water was like snott abit not alot of it.
    
    and the radiator doesent look to good theres the odd dent

    my light used to come on just the same if i started my car straight away like when all the lights were on the dash but i found that i if let that one go off before i cranked the engine it wouldnt flash for couple secs after started.
    
    and is that like on the bottle or is it like floating around lol?
    and half way is about right for the fan to kick in
    where abouts you located at could take a quick look if you were that worried about it

    haha that made so much sense then my dads had somthing like that but he had just water no anti freeze in it so was like eating the water up alot but i flushed the whole lot out and redid it all and doesnt have any probs now still has to top it up ever now and then but thing dont like sitting still and there a small problem with his fan which causes it to overheat abit but could try that first is what i would do
    and kinda bit away from me

    it only has water init no antifreeze.
    
    and the gunk is floating around in the water
    it was only abit at the top when i opened the water cap

    well just water on its own wont do it any good
    flush it all out and refill fill it all adding antifreeze see how that goes

    Too flush the system disconnect the bottom hose off the rad, get a hose pipe and put it in your expansion tank... let it run for a while to clean the sytem out...
    
    Best to get some anti-freeze in there with the cold days fast approching otherwise will fuck ya engine right up lol, a 50:50 mixture
    Thats where your water has been going, engine has been boiling it lol..
    And do that test i said further back in the thread just to make sure its not your driveshafts that have gone...

    the oil cap off its clean its just the water thats got a tiny bit of gunk init.

    its like a robot noise lol like when i robot moves if u get me. it happens when i turn the
    steering wheel while im sat still with the handbrake on people have said it might be the pump???

    Good, heard City College aint all that regard teaching and the amount of stuff your taught is low level.
    And Would not surprise me, Matt has learnt most he stuff from being around me and the lads.
    And as ur older than him, you obv have a high level of knowledge aswell

    and matt seems to know alot acually his been taught well like a hammester taught to use his ball
    ive picked all my knowledge up by my self just reading up on things and getting hands on
