Misfire at low revs - fixed :D

The other day, my car started to misfire badly, sounded exactly like the exhaust was blowing. Checked the plugs, the tip on one of them was bent right over and touching the main part of the plug. This in turn split the rubber casing on the coilpack and warped the spring into a different shape. (Will post up pics later).

I didn't have any new plugs so stuck in an old one and a spare coil pack I had. Next day is was very jerky and just didnt want to accelerate properly (in any gear), also a slightly dodgy idle.

Put in 4 new plugs and it seemed to solve it. Went out Friday night and it doesn't like pulling away in 1st or 2nd at low revs, again slightly jerky. Its fine in every other gear is fine.

This coilpack has a tiny split in it. Could it be just that or possibly something else?

I'd try a new coilpack. Especially if there's a split in the casing of that one.

The tiniest bit of moisture on the coils totally fucks them up.

    Cheers.

Im glad I didnt sell this one the other week, yes this might be fucked but the other one is unusable

    Fixed!

Took the CP out and the split was a little worse. Also noticed that on the inside of the tube it sits in had a small white mark. Im guessing it was draining some of the power from the CP?

Anyway, wrapped a short piece of of electrical tape around the split and put it all back together. All works fine. No jerks, judders or anything.

    Happy days
