Drivers Door Problem

  1. #1
Hey people, i have searched and searched and havent been able to find a solution to my exact problem so i thought id post a new thread.

Basically when i try and shut my 1999 VTR drivers side door, it almost bounces back open and doesnt engage properly. The only way i can shut it is by holding it shut tight with my hand pressing the central locking button then re opening the door and shutting it again. (If you understand me ). I was wondering how i can fix this? is it an easy and cheap fix and also i am due my MOT soon and i was wondering whether it would fail because of this.

    Thanks
    Paul

hiya i had i similar sort of problem when i had a 106, but my problem woz the drivers door wouldnt open! lol
Has your door dropped at all?
As i found that if it has, it can course both of these problem and all you'd need is a new bolt were the door sits to pull it back up again. The part only cost's about £5 if that.
Or just take it to your local citroen garage/work shop and they can tell you what the problem is for free : )

if it locates on the first click only then its the door latch quite a common fault seems to be a bit of an issue at present as seen loads of threads relating to it lately most probably will need changing as there is nothing to adjust in the latch

basically tere are 3 torx screws that hold it in place then you need to diconnect the 3 rods that are connected to it inside the door itself you will need a torch to see them its more fiddly than difficult just need time and patience if you need to force it then its not free and needs more removing
