Clutch release bearing...

How do you know when it needs replacing?

When I am in neutral and dont have the clutch down there is a horrible sort of grinding noise, well not grinding but whirring noise thats not ment to be there. But when i put the clutch down it goes and evverything sounds fine again!

    Any ideas??

Thats your CRB fucked yeah. LIke a dry rough whirring? Its pumped. You might as well buy a new clutch unless its fairly recent. Last couple of times I bought Valeos, they had new CRBs included, so it was quite a good price.

Bought one about 18months ago, been at uni for a lot of that time, and was making it before then too.....Any ideas where to get one, and how much?

Tbh mate for the effort required on changing the release bearing it's a gear box off job so you may aswell just do the full clutch change tbh

Most motor factors will be able to help you out and I'm Sure there's places on the net that do, but again motor factors will most likely just try to sell you a clutch kit

Last time I bought a CRB on its own, I had to go to Citroen themselves. Probably easy to get nowadays from a good factor.

    as if by magic
