   hey just wondering what kind of engine mods you think or reccomend for a 1.0i! since its only a 1.0i every little helps!

   best option is vtr/vts swap,

   yeahh suppose so! but anything will surely be better! and since im not 17 yet, im not going to bother with engine swap until im near 18! which do you rekon is better, the vts or vtr?

   Vts is quicker.
   
   And all I would do at the most mate is make it breathe better... So enclosed induction kit, 4-2-1 manifold, decat and straight through exhaust system will see a few horses and help free up some rev's but dont expect a lot from a 1.0 mate.
   
   Also you could strip everything you dont need like spare wheel, rear seats etc if you dont use them. Will make the power to weight a little better!

   theres a recipe on here, lightly remove engine and add 600cc and a sprinkling of 8 valves, lightly grill on gas mark 4 and enjoy. this question is asked so many times and the answer will always be the same, save your hard earned cash until you're a bit older and put it towards an S engine

   cheers guuys! and the vts is the 1.6 16v riight? i think ill consider saving the money until i have somethnig decent to spend it on! cheers all

   best idea mate tbh, maybe work on suspension or cosmetic mods to keep you amused until the S engine comes along?

    yeahh hahah! ive got too much money and odnt know what to spend it on!! soon as im nearly 18 im swapping the engines around. the vts i think!

    Good luck with the insurance when you tell them you've swapped the engine from a 1.6 into a 1.0 at the age of 18... that'll soon bleed that spare cash dry!
    
    TBH you're best off keeping the car as it is, to maximise the resale value (not that too many folks buy cars from 18 year old males!!), and then when you've gathered some NCB changing the entire car for a genuine VTR or VTS, or dare i say it a 106 Rallye S2 - just add lightness

    Agree with above.. They will rape you for every last penny.. Get a year on the 1.0 then push onto westcoasty or vtr becoz to be fair they are nippy once abit love has gone into them.. Then grab yourself a vts.. Maybe at 19/20

    i may have done this the wrong way but when i turned 18 i had a spare bit of cash and brought a bmw e46 318 coupe their lovely to drive and comfy but expensive on petrol however are only group 10 insurance and at 18 i payed a respectable £1900 on my owwn. now 19 ive got myself a vts and are a hell of a lot of fun and are well worth waiting for however i think vts are like group 14 someone correct me if im wrong. vts
