#2No as long as the whole thing comes out. If you disconnect it and leave it in then it can fail I believe.
-
#3yer its like, if you have fog lights, they must work but if you hav them and dont work its a fail, so is it same with the brake ligh on he boot?
-
#4I'm sure there will be some testers that will disagree, and will argue that the rule is 'if the car had a high level light it must work' but I'm pretty sure it's as above, and if it's there it must work. Same doesn't apply to foglights though - fronts aren't tested at all and rears must work.
-
#5I'm sure the requirements are for two brake lights that must both work.........
-
#6The high level brake light is required by law on any car made after (i think) 1992. So yes it is needed unless the tester doesn't know. Most don't know every rule etc
-
#7hmm, well my mot tester is friendly, it passed with no cat and straight though so will see nearer the time, hope you dont as i ripped all wireing out when i took boot off.
-
#8the requirement is that a car must have at least 2 brake lights, one at each corner, so you should be ok
-
#9not every car has one, so aslong as its removed, they cant fault you.
