Washer Jets not pumping Liquid through

  1. #1
My windscreen jets dont seem to be working, ive filled it up to the top, the wipers work find and the pipes all seem to be ok

    Any ideas ?

if the pipes are fine and the nozzels arnt bloked, it cud be the pump itself, easy to change, its under the drivers side front wheel arch, i got one from ebay at it was pretty cheap, cant remember how much, i would say check your getting one with the right connector at the top, i got the wrong one and ended up soldering the the wires to the pump.

    what is the stalk ?
so its not the pump then ?
  7. #7
its the bit on the right hand side of the steering column the lever that you use to work ya wipers
  8. #8
Oh right but the wipers are fine? They move when I pull for the washer jets but I cant hear the motor working, sounds like its the pump/motor?

try and poke a neddle in the holes were the water comes out might be blocked
  10. #10
thats what i thought mate i bought a new motor swapped it over still nothing got another stalk and put my old motor back on and its fine now pm me ya mobile if ya want mate
  11. #11
depends, i have changed so many where the pump works but the impeller inside has broken, so it sounds like it works but wont actually do anything, take a pipe off closer to the pump and see if it squirts water, if it does work then you have a blockage somewhere, if not then its pump
  12. #12
If it was blocked I would hear the motor right? Like in winter times when its frozen you can still hear the motor trying to force water through.
But i cannot hear anything apart from the wiper moving
  13. #13
yea, if there no motor noise then id check the connector on the pump for feeds using a test light, if you have a feed then the pumps dead mate, i worked mine in the winter once and the ice inside the pump mashed it up lol
  14. #14
So sounds like the water pump then
  15. #15
id try the stalk mate honestly
  16. #16
when my pump went, it still made the noise, ......so it cud well be the stalk as said above, ive got one going if you want it, pm me, dont want anything for it, just send me a stamped addressed jiffy bag, and its yours
    jim

Oh right so what is it that makes the noise then? The stalk ?
Do they all fit the same models ?
And yeah if you dont want anything for sure ill take it! Atleast if it doesnt work that eliminates 1 possibility

the motor makes the noise. when mines went the motor still made the correct noises just didn`t pump. changed the pump and it was fine. here`s a wee guide to changing the pump if you get stuck

its the pump that makes the noise mate, the stalk is the switch that turns the pump on, if you no wot i mean, if you pm me i'll give you my address so you can send me a jiffy bag and i'll get it in the post for you

So it could be the stalk, the motor or the pump ? Is the motor built into the pump though?
