Does anyone know if there is a guide to widemouth? I've searched but can't find anything. Also any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

There's an Icelandic one in the projects section with a carbon surrounded one I saw earlier, looked awesome! Would make it easier too if you could just cut it, neaten it up a bit then put a surround on.

Yeah but I think it looks a lot neater if it's cut nd smoothed. Plus surrounds r like £70+

I would wide mouthed my bumper recently.
Basically you need to cut out the vertical and horizontal slats, which will leave gaps/holes. I used fiberglass matting cut to shape and placed over the holes and then applied fiberglass resin on top (which makes the matting harden and makes it really strong) once set apply filler on top and shape it. Takes a lot of time and a lot of rubbing down adding more filler rubbing down again etc.
Some people may say that you should plastic weld the holes but if the fiberglass matting is done properly it will be fine mate.
Edit: check my progress thread for some pictures if you like. pages 14/15 maybe 16 lol.

Sweet cheers mate easy enough to do?

No problem.
It can be tricky but its simple enough. Get a some scissors cut the matting into a square shape big enough to overlap the hole then mix some resin up with hardener in a bowl and apply the resin on top of the matting with a brush. Come back in a few hours and it will be rock solid.

Heres some pictures of what I mean, it's de-fogging the bumper but its the same method with wide mouth.
I cut some fiberglass matting to shape
Then applied the fiberglass resin...
This is what it now looked like from the outside....
Lots of filler, only got 1 picture of this but it took lots of sanding then appling more filler etc to get it right!!!
Hope this helps.
