my manifold is leaking on where it joins to the head on the bottom left hand side im just wondering does antyone know if piper do a fitting kit ? i cant find one anywhere on the net ? also isit possible to just fit a normal saxo exhaust manifold gakset or does it have to be specific for the manifold?

I can't speak from experience but i can imagine you will need a different gasket as the manifold it totally different to the standard one?

my piper 4-1 manifold was fine with a new exhaust gasket, dont think piper do i fittin kit no but no 100% on that. sounds silly but i remember the bolts were a cunt to tighten, u sure there tight? try i new exhaust gasket from citroen, they dont cost much at all. could even give u the part number for the gasket.

remove the manifold, clean off the old gaskets and then use a high temperature silicon gasket sealer. I dont bother with paper gaskets on my cars anymore and the stuff has not failed me yet.

I'm not a fan of gasket sealant. Makes a mess and goes all nasty around the threads. Gaskets ftw

does a standard citroen exhaust gasket fit on a piper manifold if so i have a brand new one in my mates house .... il put that on and gasket sealer then see how it goes 2moro

Standard gasket from citroen will be fine mate. Had one with my piper 4-1 and was perfect. Bit of sealent for that extra seal is always good mate.

you should only be applying a small bead round the ports, none around the threads..If you get the beading size right there is little expansion as you tighten everything

make sure you remove all crap from mani and head surfaces. i have used very fine wet and dry in the past. i exspect a normal gasket fits aslong as exhaust port holes line up?? not sure tho. dont think mine had 1 when fitted racland 421
