Grinding/Buzzing Noisy adjusting idle on start

I have had this Saxo for a few days, when i started it earlier today it was idling really really low and eventually cut out. When i restarted it it was idling a bit rough but still around 1000rpm and eventually levelled itself out.

Now after cooling i went back out and when i started it it struggled at low revs, then there was a loud buzzing/grinding from under the bonnet and the revs seemed to adjust, then same happened again and it was idling just about ok, maybe a bit uneven, mild hunting but bearable.

Is this a potential ICV problem and can they really make that much noisy? It was loud enough that I was starting to worry, but then it seemed to be helping me out with the idle so i let it carry on.

Could this be anything to do with a stray green connector i found hanging by the alternator or anything to do with my exhaust SOUNDING like its blowing but ive just changed it and felt around all joints and nothing appears to be leaking when I cover the pipe up??
