Changing Gear

I think I know what the problem is, but Im going to chuck it out and see what you guys think.

Basically, I have no gears. If the car is off, I can change into any gear I want, turn the engine on and it becomes almost solid, I cant choose any gear, not even change. Managed to get it into 3rd and start it to make it home which was something new

Linkages are all fine, clutch cable is fine but a noise coming from the clutch/gearbox. Im thinking the release bearing as it stops when I engage the clutch. Was awkward to change gear at times over the weekend, felt very stiff.

Am I right in thinking the release bearing is faulty or is it something else? The clutch is about 6k miles now.

I would go back to the people that fitted the clutch as it sounds like a clutch issue, as the release bearing may not of been fitted correctly, as the clutch shouldn't go after 6k miles.
