   Basically i found out what the knocking noise was coming from around the engine, the spark plugs had rattled loose somehow and 1 was hand tight. NICE. it happened to me in bristol of all places, sounded fatal so had it towed home to wales where i discovered it wasn't as bad as i'd thought.. untilll the spark plug wouldnt screw back into the thread (just kept spinning). Why do they do this?

   Sounds like the thread is buggered or its popped a few threads.
   
   might need to get the head Helicoiled (SP) doesn't cost a bomb but a good garage needs to do it. but first check the threads on the spark plug run your nail along the thread.

   the plug is ok was gonna helicoil them myself but i bought a new head a few days ago cheap with piper cam so il just use that.
