my headgasket saxo vtr im getining a new 1 help

   ive had my car in the garage for the overheating and its been on the machine and he said my gasket is on its way out that might explain why the car has lost alot of power and it isent pulling aswell as it did it has lost alot of power in the last week and he said get your headgasket done he said it will cost about £350 thats the headgasket done and all the other bits that get done with it its that the right price or does any 1 no any cheaper places to get it done. i live in the blackpool area. ?

   Depends on the area.
   
   Bear in mind, they could and probably are including:
   Headgasket replacement
   New headbolts
   Timing belt kit
   New tensioner
   New water pump
   
   Theres a myriad of other things they could look at at the same time. Call round a few other places and ask what it includes.

   sounds about rite price. Just give a few garages a call. I get a mate to do mine. Cost me £50

   make sure there skimming the head too

   i havent got the the cash to do the things i wont to do to the car for 8 weeks so im gunna drive the car when i really need to becuase the head hasent gone its on its way to goin.
   
   but my vtr has lost loads of power im thinking this is due to the headgasket goin some 1 please tell me this is the problem?
   
   so in 8 weeks time im goin to get my headgasket done with the timeing belt and the other bits that come with it will this sort the lose of power im haveing with the car. and im also goin to get the alloys painted shiney black im gunna get my cherry bomb exhaust
   fitted and im goin to tint the back windows. ??

   if its down on power and the garage says the hg neesd doing you shouldnt drive it!!
   
   if it over heats it couls warp the head to such an extent that it cant be skimmed or it could crack the head
   either way will leave you with a bigger bill to pay

   im getin it done monday now the guy is gunna do it for me for £180 skiming the head etc. thinks thats a good deal ive got there ???
