I put my window down today and a fuse blew , i cant indicate it makes a horrible buzzing sounds like its coming from the glove box, has anyone else had this problem, just bought the car today it doesn't have a cd player in it don't know if the guy that owed it has done something when he took it out.

    Cheers

Try putting a fuse in that is 5 amps more and see if it blows if it dose then you have got a promble sum where in the wiring for the window

On the loom their will be three dofferant types of fuses 2x 30a(main fuse), 1x 5/7.5a fuse it could be any of them. Follow the two beighe colored cables coming from the passanger door there are youe electric window cables, untill you come to either the back of the fuse box if factory fitted or to an inline fuse if fitted from none standard like mine. I made a how to install guide on fitting them here it is:

Read up on it and it will give you a netter idea of how it works and what to look for. The fuse attatched to the two beige cable will be either 5 or 7.5a so once found remove if its singed inside its blew so replace with same amp fuse. Or it could be the main 30a fuse which again should be located on the fuse box near the passanger feet as power might have urged it to pretect the componants. If all three fuses are fine then remove your door cards and look at the two beige cable attatched to the unit the insullation might have worn away or got caught by the bottom of the window and snapped it cas if the copper from inside the cable touches metal it shorts the unit. But the buzzing sound from the passangers side indercated either the fuse has gone or the relay has gone which both parts can be replaced as cheap as £3 from Maplins.

Make sure you dissconect the + of the batter first before attempting this as the second the fuse touches it will spark and blow it so you will be ruining fuses. Also make sure the fuse is 5a best thing to do i dissconct power from battery going to fuse box under passangers feet getting the little stawk provided to remove each fuse ( if available if not pull them out) and check their not blown only one at a time so you dont forget which fuse went were and the one thats blown replace with the same amp fuse
