Guess thats ment to say "Cam and Remap" yes you will notice alot of difference from a Cammed VTS the pick up will be alot better all the way through dependant on the cams you will see different gains PH3/708s are best for the VTS imo

I went from a standard ish vtr to a cammed vts, it felt a fair bit quicker, lacking in torque if anything.
In my car the power comes in around 4k and pulls harder and harder to the limiter.

I doubt the VTS ever has less torque than a vtr across the rev range. Its the effect of the extra valves and the spike in power when the engine comes on cam.

Very noticeable IMO. Where a 16v on standard cams seems to run out of puff right at the limit with higher lift cams (in my case they were 708s) it will pull hard right upto it.
Get the rev limit upped to 7500 so you can rev just past 7250. Couple that with a 1.3 rallye or 1.4 xsi box and it will feel very different indeed!
