MOT Fail =(

    right guy i got a westcoast dew mods on it. took it for its MOT yesturday and failed on a few thing ! stupid stuff like airfreshener blocking view etc etc.
    Few of the ones worry me so here goes

    1.Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive.(hole in backbox could be causing this)

    2.Exhaust emissions lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits.

    3.Rear Brake application uneven

    any helps guys cheers

    Make sure the car is warm before they do the emissions test. Shouldnt have issues then.

    Check the rear brakes, one side might me more worn than the other.

    Rear brakes could be uneven maybe due to a seized caliper so check the condition of them make sure none of the rubber's r split around the piston.

    As for emmisions i do wot Reechard sais get it warm and give it a good drive b4 u take it for mot

    And then ask them to test the emissions first. The cat is nice and hot so will be doing its job properly.

    being a westcoast you will have drums and shoes on the back. get them changed. i'd probably go to a friendlier mot place, ive had the exact same experience.
    A dealership failed me on the magic tree air freshner, and other rediculous petty things, and also exhuast emmissions. Took it to a small local place and they just let the engine warm up and emmissions passed fine

    What a prick! Why not just ask him to take down the air freshener?

    You may need some new brake shoes or even get some brake cleaner in there, obviously lose the air freshener! lol And as for the emmisions go for a good drive before you go to get that cat nice and hot!
