Does a Saxo engine fits Xsara picasso?

  1. #1
Hello community. My forst post , I though I d post with a question instead of a hello.
I got a xsara picasso 1.8l 16v 2001. I am looking of various ways to mod it , since I believe strongly its one of the best handling cars of its class (it does outperform the zafira A ,anytime). so , there is this guy who's got this saxo 170hp engine all tuned up and waitting at a nice price for the job.

I do have my doubts about this engine fitting my 2001 picasso , although Citroen introduced the engine in this model in 2005 making a 1.6 16v 110 hp.

Would it be technically possible to transplant the engine and the electrics by doing a series of workarounds? Most importantly , will the engine travel with my car at all times ?
Thanks for any input , much obliged

how could you abuse such a good engine by putting it in such a large car

are you wanting to put the 1.6 engine in place of the existing 1.8? if so, why

Could you not fit the engine from a Xsara Vts/306 Gti (2.0 16v) as its a bigger torquer engine better suited to the larger car?

The "effortless" would be the s16 engine ,but there is none in Greece where I live so I got to import it .... Other blocks such as the xsara's 2l 147 hp although Ideal they lack ....mechanic knowledge ....Which is one of the toughest barriers to break. TU5J4s are more popular over here so , there was this one guy that proposed it. And he was all serious! And that, scared me I either found god , or another dog ! Its just I ve never ever heard of this modification .
My aim is to built a stronger torquier engine that can carry my family and make me a happier man even on a local track (why not) Having a purpose-built race car is totally out of the question money is scarce.
    Hope I answered all questions.

The engine in it already is more powerful and torquey than the 1.6 you could maybe look at importing a s16 engine or similar from England or mainland Europe that will be more similar in design to the 1.8 and will be easier to fit as a result

Would it not be cheaper to sell the car you`ve got & get something bigger?

Like a zafira vxr (opc in mainland Europe) ? No way!!!!!

That would be the sensible thing to do guys. I was "dreaming" a project car like the sbarro Picasso cup with much less cash down the drain. But, thanks for reassuring me in the impossibility of the original question. I m desperate , but not that much
Happy trails saxperience! Thanks for your input!
