16v Rallye Loom question....

  1. #1
Basically, is it true that a 1998 gti/vts loom will fit plug and play on my s reg S2 Rallye?
As i am 16v'ing it and i have heard this may be true AND my mate has just written off his 98' VTS...
    Cheers for any help Tom

GTI loom will be the one you need,

    VTS loom is not.

GTI loom with GTI engine should be pretty much a straight swap.
GTI loom with VTS engine will need some sensors swapping but pretty straight forward.
VTS loom with either engine will be more of a pain.

I see lol, i can get the VTS loom relatively cheaply, and will be using A engine... basically will get the best one for the money when i have the week off booked. But as long as its a straight swap onto the rallye i don't mind...
Whats the pain with the VTS loom?

because a single plug vts loom has one multi plug a single plug GTI loom has 2 multi plugs. therefor a vts loom won't work unless you rewire your multi plugs!

when I 16v'd my rallye I had two looms and one wouldn't crank the car over the other one aloud it to run correctly so just get a 1998 GTI loom mate trust me!
