l.a.d san remo vts

    i sold my vtr last month and bought a vts san remo 1 of 7 made that has been tuned by lad.i have heard alot of bad things about lad but can not fault the car one bit. i have phone lad a couple of time but dont seem all that helpful. i was just wondering for some one to advise me cause as everyone as heard they are ment to be 160 bhp but that is without cams,de-cat,4-2-1 that is not possible is it. please advise

    lad are shit mate,they is no way you will have 160bhp without cams manifold and exhaust,i take it they have said they have bored the head to make it 160 bhp.there power figures are totally wrong mate

    thats what i am trying to say there is no way that it is 160bhp of head work what other little bits could of been done. been looking up on lad for the past month that i have had it and there power figures are out. dont get me wrong its a quick car now cause its had all the cam work done and a full system from block back and its a pleasure to drive but shouldnt there be a law against faulse advertising cause thats what they are doing.

    take it to a rolling road, then when the figures are below 160bhp( which they will be), either phone or write to LAD explaining that if they don't help with your enquiries then you're going to let every pug and citroen forum/owners club know how shit you think they are. that should do it

    lol sounds like a plan. i have had it on a mobile road but the exhust was blowing and the road was well out any way because a standed rs turbo at 130bhp only got 115bhp. my vts got 135bhp and 139fpt. i cant see them doing any thing they will just end up saying that it has been messed with

    to be honest your figure of 135bhp is around what i've heard previous LAD conversions make. bear in mind that rolling road figures @flywheel (such as yours) are calculations and as such aren't accurate, but yours is still way below the quoted LAD figure. ask them to explain what's been done to achieve 170bhp, although i emailed them a while back asking the same question and got bugger all reply.

    well it was reading 135 bhp and that is with the cams and all the breather mods done. if u were to do those sorts of mods on a standed vts you would be talking about 135 anyway. i do think the road was quite away out a few people were getting there money bac.

    sean i think all the forums already know how shit they are .it is possible to see 160 with cams,exhaust manifold,filter as there are a few on here that have proved that,what sort of cams are you running

    i wouldnt say they were shit would just say that there are lying about the bhp when it comes out of there garage + a lil bit of bull shitting. i dont no mate it was the owner befor last that must of put them in.would love to fine out and then i wouldnt have to get a custom re-map. is there any pos way of finding out without taking them out fully.

    they should be markings on the cams mate to tell if they are standard or not

    i no there not standard cause u can feel it coming on cam aroun 3500 4000 and it pulls all the way through.if there not that bad i will leave them in but want some wild ones in it before i get it mapped

    i thought the power kicked in @ 4000 rpm on a vts anyway???

    well if you keep it at about 3500 for a couple of seconds then poke it , it puts your head bac in the seat so i would say the cams kick in just before 4000
