Airbag lighting after fitting seats

   Basically I have just put in some gti seats (think they are from a 97/98 car), and the connectors under the seats don't match, so of course the airbag light is on.
   
   My original seats I've took out (2003 seats) has a more rectangular plug and doesnt fit the more square plug running from the car floor.
   
   I have searched and people have mentioned a resistor? I've had a look under the seats i've took out but I'm not sure how to get the connector off and put them on the new seats.
   
   Anybody have an idea? Thanks

   my gti seats didnt have matching connectors to my standard seats. really simple though, just swap the seat belt pre-tensioner with buckle to your original ones in your 1.1 seats. undo the little torx screw holding on the plastic trim and its only one 17mm bolt i think holding on the seat belt buckle

   Edit-Just realised I've worded the original question wrong. Just to clarify for others who may search for an answer, I should have said the gti seats has a more rectangular plug, and doesn't fit the squarer plug running from the floor and original 1.1 seats.

   Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes before playing around with the airbag wires too

   or cut the plugs off and crimp them together for a more permanent effect

   Done as you say (swapped the pretensioners and buckles over), and the result is no airbag light and matching plugs. Result!
