   hi my mot is coming up and i have a full decatted exhaust .... its a mk2 so the cat is on the manifold i was thinking instead of putting the old manifold cat back on for mot could i just put the earlier centre section cat on instead of putting the manifold cat back on as i do not want to take the new 4-1 manifold of once again , ofc there wld still only be one lambda bt if i sleeved it it should be okay .
   
   will this work .?
   
   also does a car fail mot if the engine managment light is on also the air bag light?

   yes it will fail the mot on the air bag light being on as it is unsafe.
   it shouldnt fail the mot on the engine management but i may do as it can be taken as if the car isnt road worthy.
   
   you should be ok with the cat as you said aslong as there are no leaks in the pipe and the emissions are lower thn the book says.
   
   any ''nice'' mot bloke will look see you have a cat and made a effort and pass over it as long as there are no other problems.

   Or stick some black electrical tape over the lights...cant remove it, cant see it, cant fail it.

   aye ABS is a fail, also the tape thing doesnt work. The lights supposed to come on, then go off with the engine runnign and stay off.
   
   It not coming on is just the same as it staying on...both fails!

    I just had my MOT last week and my airbag light was on and they didn't fail me for that!
