Hi there!
I came here a few weeks ago and thanks to your guys help, we tried some diagnostics to my dad's Saxo to see if we could cure a cutting out problem.
OMG!!!! how many sensors and gadgets are there on the Saxo engine?
After reading LOADS of posts and a major round of tests and unsuccessful visits to many smaller garages, we finally managed to find a garage with the skills to sort the problem(s).
it turns out that a combination of faulty coolant temp sensor AND faulty throttle sensor AND a faulty injector will cause odd problems which are almost impossible to detect without interrogating the car's computer.
Guys, if you have similar problems, I'd advise seeking an injection specialist who can diagnose the problem for you and let you know how much it will cost to put right before you spend all your hard earned replacing a multitude of parts which "might" be faulty.
we took ours to;
RPL carburettor & injection centre in Leicester
(0116 2855010)
if I had to sort these problems again, I'd deffo reccommend them. not cheap but saved SO much heartache and time and got a reliable saxo in the end.
I figure if anyone has found a similar good specialist carb garage in their local district they add it to this thread.
Good luck with the sensors,
D.
