no point on a furio if thats what you are thinking... 16v with cams and other mods along with bodies can see 160-190bhp? -
#3+1, itbs on a 1.4 is a fail tbh, get 16v, ph3 cams, good map, breather mods and itbs looking around 160/170, ph4cams, looking around 185/190, but you need different valve springs hi comp bottom end ect for ph4 cams.
itbs in them self are between 700 and 1000, gmc sell atpower bodies (i have them), kam racing sell jenveys. mappings about 500 but ideali need stand alone managment if you have single plug vts pred is about 500 if not omex ect about 1000, with looms, cams about 350 + any labour -
#4how easy or how much would it cost to cam my furio?
-
#5might be able to have my cam if i break the car....
-
#6Its pretty pointless camming your furio mate.
Cam - Around £200-250 (guestimate as i've never looked into it)
Remap - £450
Should never get remap before you do other mods though, so you would be better off buying
Exhaust system - £150 - 250
Manifold - £150-300
Induction kit - £50-150
So all in your looking at £1000 to £1400.
And thats based on your doing the work yourself, which i'm guessing you wont be able to so you'll have to pay some heavy labour costs which is a few hundred.
Whilst the engines being worked on it would be silly not to replace all the belts and (if mileage is high) waterpump.
Before you know it you would of spent £2000 on a furio which would be simular power to a standard 98bhp VTR. Which engine is pretty much a straight swap in a furio. And can be picked up for around £100-£150.
I'd stop looking at mods and look into engine conversions, a VTS engine conversion is what you're after.. You can pick these engines up around £350. Its not rocket science to fit it if you or a mate have the right tools.. An engine crane and a socket set lols. -
#7For the price Paul mentioned you could just buy a VTR/VTS save even more than doing a block swap
-
#8for a road car the cheapest option for more power is usually to fit a vts lump. If you really want to keep a 1.4 for some reason then theres nothing wrong with modding it heavily.
