what -60mm springs with bilstein b8s

  1. #1
hey as above im purchasing some bilstein b8 shocks pretty soon and need some springs to go with it.
ideally the eibach -50mm springs but i was after just that extra 10mm drop
any ideas what is good only springs iv seen at -60mm on kam racing are spax?
or does anyone have any pictures of the height there car sat at with the bilstein b8 and 50mm springs on there car?
    thanks adam

a 50 mm drop is enough surely lol

decided im getting the spax springs with the b8s now. anyone ran these and know what its like? pics? or is there better -60mm springs out there? cheers

dont really no of what other springs do a 60mm drop. unless you go for custom coilovers with the bilsteins?
  5. #5
    g-max?

what size of wheel have you got?
  6. #6
spax are better than gmax i would've thought
  7. #7
will be 15s and cant afford a decent set of coilovers

i asked kam racing they seemed to think itds be fine with the spax springs
worst comes to the worst il just buy the 50mm eibach springs

50mm would look low enough with 15inch alloys

i would of thought 40mm for best handling if your going all out for bilsteins

dont think there is any actual proof to this?
  12. #12
well if there is no proof, if it was me, just to make sure ( hopefully not sounding like a dick), i'd call bilstein and see what they recommend as they did design / make these shocks
  13. #13
your not the first person to say 40mm is about the best height for handling that why i asked if there was any research you dick
  14. #14
o right not been a member long and not owned a saxo long but the majority of cars which are lowered do tend to handle best with 40mm springs, just my thought really and what ive been told.
  15. #15
apparently it tends to understeer more when lower or so ive heard. i think its mostly personal preferance and opinions really from the track boys on here who try it at different heights

i have read into it abit and most people say 35 40mm is best for handling i know the lower you go it doesnt get better

I bought a custom made set, will try and find the company, but im down on apex and its just... perfect, got 7k miles on them and tons of rallying driving lol and there still firm as hell! car dosent move an inch

The lowering of 40mm is more to do with the wishbone angles and handling effects such as bump steer.
Out of choice I would have the Eibachs over Spax due to the better quality of the spring material but if you are chasing 60mm theres not a lot available.

okay cheers for the info guys think il go for the 60mm see how it goes.
can always sell them on and get the 50mm eibach ones
    worth a shot imo
