Looking at syling my engine bay up a bit, want it to be clean but not too much obv...
gonna spray rocker cover etc , was going to buy samco pipe lines but dont really understand fully what im buying so what and where they would fit, and i want the air filter to be made good or to buy one that looks the part really =D

Covers, what to spray where to spray what sprays to use.... ways of spraying rocker cover (can you just simply take of and spray and put back on day after, or is there complications?)

Any advice would be really helpful thanx

im sure people have just painted an laquered there rocker covers with standard halfords paint but i wouldnt , either have it powder coated or paint it but use high temprature laquer

My covers are just sprayed with normal paint, and not even laquered, seem to be holding up pretty well.

I would recommend doing it with high temperature paint though, hammerite is one of the most popular types.

gonna go for a simple look anyway with silvers etc so it looks like a engine not a toy so hammerite might be best bet just didnt want to take it off the car to be honest becuase i dont want to break any of the seals etc, but thanx for advice guys =D

might as well jack this thread while its up

when painting stuff such as the struts, slam panel etc, basically anything in the engine bay. Should high temp paint be used, or only on the likes of the rocker cover?

    1. Give the bay a good clean.
    2. Colour coded split loom over electrics
    3. Spray rocker cover
    4. Maybe get some ECU/Battery/Washer bottle covers in chrome or carbon effect
    5. Samco / SFS hoses
    6. Upper strut brace
    7. Nice induction kit (BMC, Raceland, K&N Gen2)
    8. Just colour code some other parts of the engine bay
    9. Nice stainless steel manifold

    Will look amazing mate
