exhaust sounds way too tinny!

   just fitted de-cat straight through pipe on my MK1 VTR but it sounds proper tinny. There's a crack in my manifold (new one on the way) so could that be the reason? Or would a different backbox change the tinny sound as I have a 3" janspeed on there at the moment. any suggestions would be appreciated

   Having a straight through will make it a bit more raspy then a middle with a box in it.
   
   However a cracked mani will make it sound horrid. Mine was not nice at all when my GMC one split.
   Id fit the new mani first if you have one on the way and see how it goes.
