anybody know what are a god set of camshaft to put in my mk2 VTR.? want them to be good but however nott too expensive. and how much they cost roughly to be set up?

another thing, how much roughly for a 're-map' ?

    many thanks.

    VTR only has one camshaft.

Depends what you're after, and how much you want to spend.

Remaps are around £450 for good job.

I'd suggest doing abit more reading up about it before you jump in at the deepend.

Yes i knw VTR'S only have one cam shaft, as they only have 8valves.

okayy, think i will leave that then. and just go with my first idea and put a VTS engine in my VTR shell. alot cheaper thank's anyways.

Then get a SET of cams for your vts

VTS conversion is cheaper, easier and better in soo many ways.

see...i dont want to get a VTS engine, cos that will be sooo much of a pain getting someone to do an engine conversion....

jayjoung - i can get a engine conversion done for £100. thats why im going to do that instead of buying cam's

ah fair play....dont blame you then!! haha!

I still don't get why people say cam's when refering to a SOHC engine?

Also danherring as a side note the amount of valves is not related to the amount of cam shafts your engine uses. You might have for example a clio 16v - that uses a single cam.

Good luck with what ever route you go down mate

one cam shaft has multiple cams, ie one for each valve.
vts conversion is cheaper though, if i had a vtr and was going to spend that amount of money fitting a mani, cam and getting a map id rather spend the extra couple of hundred on a vts engine as well.
