Alternator Fittings

   Hi
   
   I have ordered a second hand alternator and recieved it today and the person i bought it off have says it was off a 2002 Saxo Vtr so i got it in the post this morning and the connections look different to mine Whys that ?
   
   Can i still use this alternator on my car with a bit of modifying the wires?
   
   My old alternator was the 2 pin connector you get... And this one looks like two ring connectors ?

   What does the 2 pin connector do on the MK2 alternators do like where does it go ? Ive got this alternator running just now but the other plug is just sitting doing nothing.. thier isnt a fitting on this other alternator for it

   it won't work sounds like the earlier style , iirc its something to do with the power steering but not 100%

   I had a 16v conversion done on my furio and the alternator gave so we fitted the old 1.4 one on and the socket on the alternator was different so we cut the plug off the old 1.4 loom and wired it onto the 16v loom and it works fine. Iv still got the other plug attached so i can use either.
