#2i voted for the 1.1 gearbox for the shorter ratio`s and who needs to do more than 100mph anyway?..
-
#3vts or 1.1 more or less the same ratios mate, both be better on acceleration
-
#4neither mate... get a 106 s1 rallye box or a 106 xsi box...they atleast give you a top end of 110 an acceleration is unreal... i have one n westyvtr use to have one!
-
#5good point ppavli.. but do you think these series 1 rallye boxes will be hard to get hold of? and how much would one roughly cost?.Quote:Originally Posted by ppavlineither mate... get a 106 s1 rallye box or a 106 xsi box...they atleast give you a top end of 110 an acceleration is unreal... i have one n westyvtr use to have one!

#7which gearbox will help the car get to 60 quicker?
-
#8rallye box mate
-
#9I've voted 1.1 box
For 4 simple reasons
1. Short ratios
2. Cheaper than VTR/VTS and S1 rallye
3. Less likely to have been ragged
4. Loads of them about -
#10mines a vtr btw

#13S1 Rallye gearbox will not necessarily mean quicker to 60mph, you need a third gear change to get this, which you dont with VTS/GTi box so considerable time is lost there. It will be quicker then the VTS box after 60 up to 120mph or whatever it will reach.
